The Pink Out For Hope committee will not host the Booby Bolt 5-K and Kids Fun Run in 2024. Generous donations and sponsorships helped Pink Out For Hope exceed our expectations for 2023 and for that we are grateful.

The POFH committee will miss seeing the hundreds of walkers and runners gathering at Balthrop Park this October to raise awareness of breast cancer.

The decision to not hold the Booby Bolt 5-K and Kids Fun Run was a difficult one, but life has a way of throwing you a curve sometimes. Two of our committee members have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. They are recovering well, but just like many other breast cancer survivors, they have gone through surgery and are receiving treatment.

No one is exempt from getting a breast cancer diagnosis. One out of 8 women can expect to have breast cancer during their lifetime.

We’ve restructured our committee and for the remainder of the year will focus our attention on Breast Cancer Awareness and our Patient Assistance grant program. Since January of 2023 Pink Out For Hope has provided financial assistance to 25 women in Cheatham County who received a breast cancer diagnosis and are actively receiving treatment.
